It appears that the unnecessary and unwarranted 20 year copyright term extension is now dropped from the agreement, and the parties have introduced some flexibility for users to get around technical protection measures in order to leverage their rights. The EU trade agreement with the Mercosur countries, Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay, is an association agreement of which trade is one part. The National Board of Trade has reviewed the agreement in a number of areas, sectors, and goods, and analysed the effects that the agreement may have. These texts are without prejudice to the final outcome of the agreement between the EU and Mercosur.
